About 9 months ago I finally came to the realization that I was tired. I decided that I needed to make a positive change in my life. I have worked out on and off over the years, but never stuck with it permanently. Then I met Diana, she has changed my life for the better. I am 66 years old now and I am in the best shape of my life. I feel amazing. Diana is so encouraging, motivating and knowledgeable. She is the whole package. Diana has helped me change my outlook and feelings towards investing in myself through exercise. I now actually look forward to to working out. Having a personal trainer was the push I needed. I now have defined arms, incredible core strength and just an overall stronger body and mind.

My journey began with Diana four months ago. I had gone from being very active 4 years ago to barely being able to make it through a day of work without excessive pain. I had accepted the fact that I would probably never run again and that I would only be able to do very light exercises. I decided to go back to the gym with my boyfriend and was struggling to keep consistent and was frustrated with the lack of progress. I decided to work with Diana to see if she could help me stay focussed and work on my strength.

Diana showed me that as long as I believe in myself and keep my focus that anything is possible. I thank Diana for all that she has done for me even though she tells me that I am the one who did it (I  truly couldn't have done it without her). I am grateful for every day that I wake up and I can workout and go to the gym and lift heavier weights than I’ve ever lifted before as well as do Diana’s challenges. I’m able to go for jogs again and not be in pain. What an Incredible gift to build not only an outer strength that my body needed but to find an inner strength to continue on every day; making it a personal challenge to get even stronger and fitter as my days go by. I continue to work with Diana and will keep doing her online challenges and quite honestly will continue to ask her who that incredibly strong woman is in the videos she takes of my progress because I truly  never thought I could be that woman and now I AM and I feel amazing!

Thank you for being not only an inspiration to me and my coach but for truly being a friend and giving me the direction that I needed and providing me the tools I need to have so that I can be a success in my own life.  A true inspiration, the push you need at times that you are struggling to maintain your focus, the support to stay on track, and the voice of reason when you are having a bad day…this is Diana and anybody would be extremely blessed to work with her!

Life’s journey takes many paths. Some are straight, well others are crooked with many ups and downs. My journey came to a crashing halt when my husband was diagnosed with cancer. He became very ill. My reaction was to be the rock and support him / take care of him during this time. I put my life on hold to be able to walk beside him during treatment. While his recovery went well, my recovery took a downward spiral. Everything I did for myself  prior came to a screeching stop. My mental and physical health suffered greatly -  I couldn’t go on  like this anymore. So I took the first step and reached out for counselling. 5-6 months later, I could see the change in my mental status but physically I felt like a wreck. Exercising and eating healthy had been a thing of the past. I felt exhausted all the time. It was a struggle to wake up in the morning for work  and put on a happy face. My energy level was low and even lower after work.  Although I attempted to push myself, I had no desire to exercise or participate in activities that I enjoyed . I used every excuse in the book to tell myself it was okay not to do what I loved. I came to the decision that I could not continue to go on with my life this way – I had to make a change.  First came a switch in my job to something that was not going to drain me physically/mentally. Once that happened I turned my direction to my physical well-being. Working in the rehabilitation field, I found it difficult to reach out to someone else for help. I have the knowledge about what to do but just couldn’t muster the energy or strength to achieve my goals. The end of November was turning point. It was time to take my journey on the path to wellness. My husband asked me what I would like for Christmas – my response was to get healthy!!! I investigated what would work for me. After searching, I found myself at inspired life fitness. I swallowed my pride and contacted Diana Howard. Contacting Diana was huge. I felt very comfortable explaining what had happened and why I needed her help. Now came the real work!! The first three months was a struggle. My pathway was still filled with highs and lows and many personal struggles. Diana provided me with the straight pathway I needed. I was seeing her once week. Every week she brought optimism, comfort, support, compassion and much needed encouragement. I knew that she was someone who understood, praised me for my accomplishments, acknowledged my downfalls with positive reinforcement and never once looked down on me. As the weeks grew into months I began to see the changes. Not only in my body but emotionally and mentally. I was happy, had more energy, and actually believed in myself – again. Diana was right beside me – guiding me through this time. Just recently I had hit a milestone losing 30lbs! My goal was not the weight loss but to be healthy and strong. It has been a great feeling to have people tell me how healthy and fit I am!!! And now I am  loving life, I am happy, I am strong and I feel I can take on the world!!!! I am glad that I took the first step in contacting Diana. With her beside me in my journey to wellness I can accomplish anything!!!!!  A wise man once said “ Not everyone will understand your journey. That’s fine.  It’s not their journey to make sense of its yours. “

So my fitness journey started back in August. I saw some pictures of some beautiful women on Inspired Life Fitness page and was truly inspired by their transformations. That got me out of my comfort zone to make the call to Diana, and it was the best decision ever. I started my first online challenge back in September and now I just finished my 4th challenge. I love that the workouts are always different and that I can do them in my home at my convenience. You have the support and encouragement of other women in the group that are on their own fitness journeys and Diana is always there for you. Not only have I lost over 30 pounds, but I have become healthier, stronger and my fitness level has improved greatly. I am also more confident in my abilities. For me, with each workout comes progress and anything is possible if you just try. It's exciting to see the results whether big or small. Every day is a new day and a new adventure in my journey to better health. Thank you Diana for all you do for each and everyone of us. Looking forward to the summer challenge. ~Cathy~

I met Diana 3 years ago when I attended one of her classes. After raising 5 wonderful kids with my husband I knew I needed to find something for "me" - I was totally happy with my life but not so happy with myself! After a few months of Diana's classes I decided to take the next step and start training one on one with D - and that's when things completely changed for me. I knew I didn't want to be "skinny", I had been there before. What I wanted was to be strong and fit. Looking back now I know that I had no idea what that really meant, but I did know I was done with quick fixes and I had an idea it was probably going to take some hard work. With her guidance and support Diana has taught me more than I ever could have imagined. I have truly learned so much, about training, nutrition and taking care of myself both physically and mentally. Her constant encouragement and belief in me has resulted in me believing in myself, and has helped me time and time again to push past goals I set for myself. My goals have changed along the way and will continue to change as I reach new milestones. I'm proud of the fact that I've lost an average of 47 pounds (it varies from 45 - 50 depending on what's going on in my life!) but more importantly I am proud of what I have gained through working with Diana - confidence, physical and emotional strength, and determination. As someone who "couldn't run" when I started working with D (or so I thought), the fact that I am running in my 3rd Bloomsday in a few weeks is pretty amazing! I am not the same person I was when I started this journey, and the knowledge I've gained will be with me for the rest of my life. If you are even the tiniest bit curious or interested in what working with Diana could do for you, I HIGHLY encourage you to reach out to her - you will never regret it and you will be amazed at the positive change you will experience!

Leanna made her recovery and went from thin to strong, fit and healthy

My journey with Diana started from a recommendation from my mother in law.  She’d already started her journey and had been enjoying the ride thus far. I was hoping to regain the strength I had lost after being hospitalized for months previously.  I had barely enough strength to lift my 14 month old let alone anything else . I had sustained a very severe injury that made it difficult for me to see, understand instructions or even just remember when I had appointments.  Diana took me on without hesitation.  We got my base level set out we were set to work.  She took the time to help me understand how each exercise should be done properly and safely.  She even helped me with my insecurities of the medical device sewn into my side, getting me past the feelings of everyone staring at me and pushing me to focus on getting stronger. She helped me in so many ways. She gave me the confidence to try harder and ignore what I thought people were thinking and for once focus on healing myself, body and mind.  She was able to read when I needed an extra push and when I was trying beyond what my body could do at the time.  She could even see when I was trying to fake knowing what I was doing.  She helped me to push past my ego and do what she knew I was capable of.  I would not be where I am today in my recovery without her help.  Today I have the strength and energy to carry my daughter.  I can even give her horsie-back rides around my house! Diana’s made me want to keep pushing myself to be the best person I can be. Inspired Life Fitness is a great name for her training because I can truly say I am inspired to work hard because of Diana.

I have had a love-hate relationship with my body image since I was a teen. I always struggled with weight issues, losing and gaining weight so many times. As I hit my 50’s I had accepted that I would always be a “full figured woman”, but I felt tired and unhealthy. I had stopped being active with my family, and was reluctant to see friends from my past. I knew something had to change.

Around my birthday last year, I decided that I had to get healthier for myself and my family. Working at the Aquatic Centre allowed me to chat with Diana when she would come in to train clients. I realized that I needed to make a big change, but needed someone to help me. It was so hard at first to find the time, energy and commitment to go to the gym every day. But with time, and lots of encouragement from Diana, it got easier until it just fit into my routine seamlessly. I started feeling healthier and stronger! Others noticed, and that positive feedback just made the journey easier, especially on days that I wanted to just go home.

I made a choice to love myself rather than food, and to embrace a healthy lifestyle rather than inactivity. And now one year later as I turn 55 I feel amazing, and look forward to getting out and enjoying life again with my family!

February update! 
I thought it would be fun to provide an update as to my progress. I just recently returned from a 3 week winter vacation. Needless to say, prior to my departure I was a little nervous about going away...as in my past, I have always gained those unwanted "vacation" pounds. Also, I was going to be without my amazing trainer (Diana) and all on my own! But I was determined that this time would be different and I would break that cycle...I wanted to continue on my path of "strong and healthy", as I had managed to keep on my program and lose weight over the holidays, I thought "Why can't I do it again?" (Even though this was a much longer duration). So once again Diana to the rescue! Diana set up a vacation workout schedule for me...so off I went to the sunshine. schedule, resistance bands, suspension straps and yoga mat in tow. (My hubby was very generous in providing me with room in his luggage so that I could bring my gear ;) 
Once there, it was so awesome to be able to keep up my routine and it paid off! I came home and had accomplished what I had hoped for! What an amazing feeling! I am doing this! I am stronger and feeling healthier everyday! Thank you Diana for believing in me and for being there for me! Your dedication to your clients is appreciated more than words can say! :) You are inspiring lives!

For many of years I have struggled with my weight. I have been on many different diets and have lost weight and gained it back! I was at a point in my life where I realized I needed to take action and do something about this unhealthy lifestyle I was living! I started eating healthier and walking on a daily basis for an hour. I lost 12 lb in a month! My son Kyle said he thought it would be good if I got some personal training at the gym so he booked me some sessions with a personal trainer! This is my testimonial for Diana Howard, my personal trainer. I just turned 40 and had decided that I wanted more to my career and to be able to help people. That was the start of my RCMP journey.

I was over weight for my height, I really thought I didn't have that far to go to get myself in shape to take the physical test required for the RCMP application process. I was wrong. I was in over my head and almost weighing 200 lbs! After working with Diana for 4 Months, I was able to exceed the expected 4 Minutes 55 seconds....I made it in 3 Minutes 56 Seconds!!!!!

Diana not only has helped me become the strongest I have ever been but has bridged a gap between my emotional and physical hurdles. She has been gentle and encouraging but also was stern when I had a weekend that involved my weakness...(cheese).

What I have learned though my journey is that if you have a dream, you can make it happen...you just need to really want it, really put the effort into it.

I have never felt so good, my husband tells me everyday how amazing I look! I am able to run with my Search and Rescue Dog - not after him! I feel I am ready to serve and protect - not only physically but emotionally I am so strong! Thank you for your friendship and valuable support.

I spent much of the last few years in pain with various medical conditions such as arthritis, fibromyalgia, and not to mention 2 hip replacements. All of this has restricted my mobility and activeness- Since working with Diana at the gym, I have not only lost 25 lbs and 20 inches, I have become a stronger, more confident person able do many things that I was not able to so before. I also no longer need prescription pain medication. Diana has helped me not only physically, but mentally.

Having struggled with my weight for most of my adult life I needed a change after gaining 100 lbs with the pregnancy of my daughter. I needed help desperately. I have worked out & lost weight in the past but was never able to keep the majority off. I knew I had been doing something wrong. Charlotte decided it was time for her to get herself back into shape, she came to my core and boot camp classes, and then also added personal training sessions in the gym with me. With personal training, we focused on her induvidual goals and needs. She stayed focused and determined, and made the necessary changes to her meals. Before long, not only did she lose 22 pounds of body fat, but added healthy lean muscle tone and looks and feels great! (And is now the proud and happy mom of little baby Blaire)..

January 2011. I am in general a fairly physically active person, I believe deeply in the importance off maintaining a physically active lifestyle. I have in the past set some fairly lofty goals for myself, such as; running marathons, competing fin triathalons and other multi-sport races. Through our personal training sessions, I am getting a better understanding of my body and it's ability to push beyond the limitation I have set.
